Protection des cultures – 3ème partie – les gardiens et la passerelle !

Pour rappel, le gardiennage des cultures a, aujourd’hui, été identifié comme la solution la plus adaptée face aux dégâts occasionnés par les grands hapalémurs dans les rizières.

Ce gardiennage s’accompagne d’opérations de défrichements limités autour des rizières (afin d’améliorer la visibilité des gardiens) et de l’installation de passerelles sur les zones de passage des lémuriens.

S’il est encore trop tôt pour affirmer que le dispositif mis en place fonctionne, les premiers résultats sont très encourageants !

De plus, les grands hapalémurs du groupe II ont adopté la passerelle qui a été installée au-dessus des rizières sur leur zone de passage. Elle permet aux gardiens de repousser les lémuriens des cultures sans couper leur route ou séparer le groupe.

As a reminder, the crops guarding has today been identified as the most suitable solution to the damage caused by the greater bamboo lemurs in the rice fields.

This guarding is accompanied by clearing operations around the rice fields (to improve the visibility of the guards) and the installation of bridges on the lemurs’ crossing areas.

If it is still too early to say that the system in place is working, the first results are very encouraging!

In addition, the greater bamboo lemurs of the group II have adopted the walkway that has been installed above the rice fields in their crossing area. It helps the guards repel the lemurs from the crops without cutting their route or separating the group.
