La fête du simus : édition 2015!

Initiée en 2013, la « Fête du simus » permet de réunir l’ensemble des acteurs du projet « Bamboo lemur » (villageois, agents du parc national de Ranomafana et Helpsimus) autour d’un objectif commun : préserver les grands hapalémurs et sensibiliser les villages alentours à la conservation de l’espèce.

Cette année la « Fête du simus » a eu lieu le 8 août 2015 à Ranomafana en clôture du 3ème atelier technique international pour la conservation du grand hapalémur. De nombreuses personnes ainsi que des représentants des autorités locales (dont Mr. le Député du District d’Ifanadiana) et d’Associations locales ont participé aux différents évènements organisés au cours de la journée. L’occasion de sensibiliser un large public à la conservation du grand hapalémur et de son habitat, mais aussi de créer des liens d’amitié forts entre toutes les parties prenantes.
La « Fête du simus » a commencé à 10h par les discours officiels des personnalités présentes entrecoupés de chants et danses traditionnels dont un spectacle préparé spécialement pour cette occasion par les enfants de l’école de Sahofika (suite à la demande de la Présidente d’Helpsimus lors de sa visite d’avril).

Une fois de plus Helpsimus a été chaleureusement remercié en particulier par Mr le Député pour son implication dans la protection du grand hapalémur mais également pour son engagement auprès des communautés locales.

Un carnaval au cours duquel ont défilé les Associations présentes dont l’équipe d’Helpsimus (les guides et les représentants du GERP étaient fiers d’être en tête du long cortège) a clôturé les discours.

La journée s’est poursuivie par l’inauguration et la visite des stands de plusieurs Associations (dont celui de Madagascar National Parks, notre partenaire). Ce sont les représentants du GERP (primatologues, botanistes et éducateurs) qui ont présenté le stand d’Helpsimus à Mr le Député notamment. Tout le monde a ensuite été invité à un cocktail dans la salle des fêtes de Ranomafana.

Une cinquantaine de personnes s’est ensuite rendue à l’hôtel Manja (également un partenaire d’Helpsimus) pour un déjeuner officiel. Un moment d’échange autour d’un repas malgache traditionnel.

Les compétions sportives ont occupé une bonne partie de l’après-midi ! Au programme :
– un match de football féminin, remporté par l’équipe des Blacks Stars très en forme ce jour-là ;

– un tournoi de pétanque, gagné par l’équipe des gendarmes (l’équipe du MNP est arrivée deuxième) ;

– une compétition de natation dans la célèbre piscine de Ranomafana qui a vu le triomphe de 3 talentueux nageurs.

Les prix ont été remis aux vainqueurs en fin d’après-midi dans une ambiance de fête par la Présidente d’Helpsimus.

Toute la journée, les plus jeunes pouvaient également aller s’amuser dans les manèges manuels installés sur la pelouse jouxtant le terrain de football. Quelques jeux de hasard étaient également présents pour les plus grands.

L’après-midi s’est terminée en musique avec des concerts (incluant de nombreuses chansons sur la protection de la biodiversité) et des chants & danses traditionnels. Les enfants de Sahofika ont donné une nouvelle représentation de leur spectacle sur le thème du grand hapalémur pour le plus grand bonheur de l’équipe d’Helpsimus et de toutes les personnes présentes.

A la nuit tombée des clips musicaux et des films environnementaux ont été projetés en plein centre-ville sur un écran géant au grand étonnement de certains touristes qui n’avaient jamais vu pareille animation auparavant !
Enfin vers 22h, toute l’équipe d’Helpsimus a ouvert le bal qui s’est poursuivi jusqu’au petit matin !
Encore une très belle journée de fête ! Un moment de partage devenu incontournable qui consolide les amitiés existantes (et en crée de nouvelles à chaque édition) et qui rappelle notre engagement commun pour la protection du grand hapalémur, des forêts de bambou et de la biodiversité.

Initiated in 2013, the « Simus Day » brings together all the stakeholders of the project « Bamboo lemur » (villagers, agents of the Ranomafana National Park and Helpsimus) around a common goal: to preserve the greater bamboo lemur and to raise awareness on the conservation of the species in the surrounding villages.

This year the « Simus Day » took place on August 8, 2015 in Ranomafana at the end of the 3rd international technical workshop for the Conservation of the greater bamboo lemur. Many people and representatives of local authorities (including Mr Deputy for the District of Ifanadiana) and associations participated in the various events organized during the day. It was the opportunity to raise awareness of the people about the greater bamboo lemur conservation and its habitat and to create strong bonds of friendship between all stakeholders.
The « Simus Day » started at 10am with the official speeches made by the figures interspersed with traditional songs, dances and a show specially prepared for the occasion by the children of the school of Sahofika (following the request of the President of Helpsimus during her last visit in April).

Helpsimus was again warmly thanked, in particular by Mr Deputy, for its involvement in the protection of the greater bamboo lemur but also for its commitment to local communities.

A carnival during which the associations paraded, among them Helpsimus (the guides and the representatives of GERP were proud to lead the parade), closed the speeches.

The day continued with the inauguration and the visit of the stands of several associations (including that of Madagascar National Parks, our partner). The representatives of GERP (primatologists, botanists and educators) presented the stand of Helpsimus to Mr Deputy in particular. Everyone was then invited to a cocktail party in the reception hall of Ranomafana.

Fifty people then went to Manja Hotel (also a partner Helspimus) for an official lunch. A moment of exchange around a traditional Malagasy meal.

Sports competitions have occupied much of the afternoon! On the agenda:
– A women’s football match won by the team of the Black Stars in great shape that day;

– A petanque tournament won by the team of the gendarmes (the MNP team came second);

– A swimming competition in the famous pool of Ranomafana which saw the triumph of three talented swimmers.

Prizes were awarded to the winners in the late afternoon in a festive atmosphere by the President of Helpsimus.

All day, the youngest could also have fun on the manuals rides installed on the lawn next to the football field. Some games of chance were also present for the oldest ones.

The afternoon ended with a concert of music (including many songs on the protection of biodiversity) and traditional songs & dances. The children of Sahofika gave a new representation of their show on the theme of the greater bamboo lemur for the pleasure of Helpsimus team and all the audience.

At nightfall, music videos and environmental films were screened in the city center on a giant screen to the astonishment of some tourists who had never seen such thing before!
Finally, at 10pm, the Helpsimus team opened the ball which continued until dawn!
Another beautiful day of celebration! A moment of sharing that becomes unavoidable to consolidate existing friendships (and create new ones in each edition) and reminds our common commitment to the protection of the greater bamboo lemur, bamboo forests and biodiversity.
